| Brother or Sister? |
| Sep 01, 04 | 10:08 pm |
Wanna know whether I'll have a little brother or sister?! Mommy & Daddy were gonna keep it a surprise until s/he was born but they decided they couldn't wait! They had a sealed envelope with ultrasound pictures of the gender so they thought it'd be extra-special to open it on Mommy's birthday. So we all sat on the couch and found out together!
Well, what's your guess?
Is it a girl or is it a boy?
Will I have a little brother or a little sister?
We were all thrilled to find out that........I'm gonna have a little brother!!! Yes, it's a B-O-Y!
Isn't that totally cool?! We're so excited to meet him in February! I'm gonna be the bestest-est-est-est BIG sister ever!!!!

| I'm gonna be a BIG sister! |
| Sep 17, 04 | 4:52 pm |
Mommy is expecting a baby in February which means I'm gonna have a little brother or sister. Everyone thinks I'll be a great big sister 'cause I just love babies! I have a baby doll that I am constantly playing with...either feeding, reading, or putting to bed. My baby doll has its own stroller, which I am AlWaYs pushing around. Whenever Mommy and Daddy's friends bring over their babies, I get so excited and am always cooing over them and touching them.
Mommy's tummy is getting bigger and bigger and she is feeling little tickles and movements more often. We have decided that we won't find out the sex of the baby 'cause it's fun to keep it a surprise! Daddy thinks it'll be a girl, and Mommy has been thinking of boy names but she's not sure which yet.
(Note from Mommy: Selah doesn't really know about the baby growing in my tummy yet - it's still too early to tell her 'cause we don't want her to have to wait so long to meet him or her. When I'm closer to my due date, approx 8 or 9 months, we'll start reading a book that we bought about becoming a big sibling with some great pictures of how babies grow and what happens when Mommy & Daddy bring the baby home. It's a good book which will help with the adjustment of having to share the spotlight!) : ) |

| My Little Brother's Coming SoOn... |
| Sep 17, 04 | 11:28 pm |
mommy's now 37 weeks pregnant and her tummy is huge! it's weird to sit on her lap with a big, hard bump pressing on my back, but it's also a great thing to sit on when mommy's carrying me. and i like to climb all over her tummy, it's so much fun! he's kicking and moving and growing a lot...i wonder if he's gonna be as big as i was when i was born.
i know it's my baby brother in there 'cause mommy & daddy read me books about babies and when they ask me where the baby is, i specifically point to mommy's belly button. i tell them "baby brother born soon!" i think i have a baby inside me too, which makes everyone laugh...i don't know why!
i think i'm gonna be a good big sister but mommy thinks i may become a little jealous after a while when i realize that he's here to stay. well, guess what? i'll prove her wrong! mommy & daddy are still trying to decide on a name for my little brother, and they'd better hurry up, 'cause time is running out! i just can't wait to hold him in my arms! |

| I'm going to sChOoL now! |
| Sep 18, 04 | 4:40 pm |
I just started Parent Infant Program (PIP)! My teachers are great and the classroom has tons of toys and books that keep me really busy! Before I started school, Mommy bought me a new pink backpack on wheels which I enjoy dragging around so much 'cause it makes me feel very important. Mommy and Daddy also told me all about school and introduced me to my new classroom where I got to meet my new teachers, Miss Holly and Miss Janelle. They made me feel so comfortable that on my very first day of school, I felt at home right away!
'Circle Time' (where we all sit in a circle and listen to the teachers) is a challenge, 'cause I can barely sit still...I'm still so curious about my new environment but I'm getting better and better about staying in my seat and paying attention. Playing with my friends is a blast, and learning from my teachers just makes time fly and before I know it, it's time to go home.

| My favorite stuff... |
| Sep 18, 04 | 5:02 pm |
Favorite toy: my baby doll and stroller. I am constantly rocking, cuddling, feeding, pushing, and reading to my baby. Even at school, dolls are my favorite-est toy to play with!
Favorite foods: I LOVE avocados! I could eat them all day. I am also nuts about pickles (which makes Daddy proud), beans, pasta (something about spaghetti sauce on my hands makes me want to run them through my hair which makes Mommy roll her eyes), mac & cheese, sausages or hot dogs, peaches, cheese puffs, fruit snacks, and my latest discovery: orange juice!
Favorite outdoor activity: SwInGiNg! I could swing for 24 hours and never get bored. At the park, I always hightail it to the swing and am completely happy just soaring through the sky. The sensation is awesome and always puts me in a good mood. I also LoVe playing with water...I am always asking Mommy and Daddy to turn on the water hose so I can spray myself or feed the plants. When it's hot, I slide into the wading pool and play with my water tray and have so much fun.
Favorite book(s): "Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed" - I love reading it and telling people how the monkey got hurt from falling off the bed and how the doctor says NO MORE jumping on the bed! I read it so often, I know the book by heart. Also "The Brown Bear" - all the different colors are so much fun to look at. I'm learning all about colors, and this is an awesome book to help me do it.
Favorite TV show: Blue's Clues (I just discovered this show and lately I am obsessed with it and will often ask Mommy and Daddy to turn it on so I can enjoy the cute little blue dog's antics). It's actually the only time that I will sit still and really pay attention for more than 10-15 minutes 'cause otherwise I'm always running around finding something to do!
Favorite friend: Risa Gough...we have been friends since birth! We are always so excited to see each other and never get bored together.
My (least) favorite stuff: getting my hair brushed, having my teeth brushed, getting my diaper changed, and going to bed when I don't wanna. : (
well, that's me at 21 months old! I'll be sure to keep sharing my "new" favorites when I'm a little bit older...it'll be fun to see how I've changed and grown over the months and years, won't it?! |

| My 2nd Birthday Party! |
| Jan 22, 05 | 11:44 pm |
we had a fun little birthday party for 2-year-old girls at my home. 5 of my friends came to help me celebrate my birthday. each had to dress a specific color of the rainbow (i was purple) and we had all the colors of the rainbow for lunch along with star-shaped sandwiches. mommy baked rainbow cupcakes, and we all got to sprinkle our cupcakes with different color sprinkles.
we colored rainbows, played outside, played games, and i got some great presents. of course, after the last guest left, i instantly conked out for a longggg nap, i was sooo wiped out from all the hoopla & fun.
it was a WoNdErFuL, magical day for me! you can see the pictures of my birthday party in my photo album. |

| Landen Kian |
| Mar 16, 05 | 4:28 pm |
landen kian weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces and measured 20 inches long at birth. gramma brought me to visit my little brother in the hospital the very next morning. i was soooo excited to meet him. i kept touching his face, his toes, and telling everyone "baby! nose! eyes! small! cute! boy!"
at home, i kiss him and hug him and stroke his face whenever i can. sometimes landen gets frustrated and mad when i do that. i guess he needs his space. i can't wait til he gets older so we can play together!
go into "my photos" and click on the "big sister" album to see pictures of my baby brother...there's even a short movie clip of me holding landen for the very first time!!! |
